Fashion Friday

Here is another blog I like. It's called VanillaScented. The girl is a 20 year old student from Oslo. I have two friends who have made Scandinavia their home for a few months this year, so I dedicate this post to them! Check out the girl. I love this photo. The high-waisted black shorts and brown with a silver vintage necklace. Ultra Chic. Bring this look to Canada, although we might have to replace the shorts for some black pants the way the weather is turning! brr

Try a silver Hattitude necklace to go with your own outfit like this for the fall, like 'Galaxy Far Far Away'! (below right)
Or 'Try Throw away the Key' (below left) for
an ultra vintage feel with a black heart to match the pants!

Timeless Thursdays

This week I'm featuring Jackie Kennedy. A timeless classic woman. Everyone should channel Jackie Kennedy every once in awhile for their fashion poise and tips. This photo summerizes everything perfectly. I love the sweet little bow she is wearing across her waist, as well as the pearls. I also want to bring back gloves. I adore gloves. Perhaps because my favourite era is the 1920's. I love flappers. This is a photo of me as a flapper from halloween and my boyfriend as a gangster from the 20's. Most people say though that I belong in the 40's, but the 20's have stolen my heart.
Pearls are back again this fall. Whether it's the flapper look, wearing a long pearl necklace down to your waist, but update the look with a 'Isn't She Lovely' Hattitude necklace up around your neck to give it a modern feel. This 'Violet Viola' simple, yet modern necklace with sterling silver bail and vintage pendant featured below to the right. Throw it on with a long pearl necklace. The new 'Isn't She Lovely' Line from Hattitude is great for layering necklaces!

Maybe you don't want to do the flapper look this fall, but still want some pearls in your necklace. So try Hattitude's 'Pearly Pink' necklace featured to the left.

Talk Tuesday

Gah I know it's wednesday and I'm posting this edition a day late, but I've been so busy!
Today I spent a good three hours photo shooting the latest creations of Hattitude, They'll be up on the website by friday! The new "Isn't She Lovely" line is selling really well. They are so sweet and unique. I adore this new line. They're perfect to throw on with everything, yet still have a little unique fashion flare in your jewels!

Last week's Hattitude Breast Cancer Jewellery Fundraiser, that was put on by a girl and her mom in New Market, show was a big success. The sales from Hattitude were able to put $150.00 towards cancer research! The Hostesses chose to donate portions of the sales towards the Breast Cancer walk on september 12th and 13th.
The Party was so great. I set up my display along the pool side deck, for everyone to come browse and shop, easy and relaxing shopping experience, plus some of the profits were going to a great cause. It was a beautiful atmosphere.

If you want some free jewellery, you can host a personalized shopping experience party.
It's easy and fun to host a Hattitude Jewellery party of your own. The more sales, the more earrings and necklaces with discounts you recieve for hosting the party! Email me at hattitude@live.com if your interested in hosting an end of the summer garden easy and relaxing personalized shopping experience for you and your girlfriends!

Hattitude is also so excited to be doing a trunk show at an awesome clothing store in Orangeville at Body Graphics on September 23rd, 24th and 25th, 2009. I LOVE this store, they carry everything from kenzie girl, to vera moda, and they have a ton of awesome jeans. The cold weather is coming...brrr so we'll have to get back into ours jeans soon, what better way to embrace the fall weather coming, then to embrace it with some new clothes and jewels!

You can come in on september 23rd-25th, 2009 and get some distressed boyfriend jeans and a great new top to go with one of the new 'Isn't She Lovely' necklaces by Hattitude. How great will it be to come get a new outfit and a Hattitude necklace to go with it. Hattitude i

More Monday

This monday features a vintage flower pendant with mother of pearl. This is a great neutral necklace by Hattitude. I love it because it's black and white, and I am always looking for black and white necklaces to throw on with things! Midnight Bloom is a one-of-a-kind necklace made from a vintage brooch. Wear this with this eggplant ruffle sweater dress from shopRuche.com. Put on a pair of black leggings with some knee high black boots and your ready to take on the fall!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

A big theme being shown this fall is the 80's. The 80's are back! Get some neon tights and throw it on with a black romper and rock one of Hattitude's  one of a kind necklaces, like Hot Pink In The City necklace! This necklace has hints of hot pink it to match your tights, and the
a-symmetrical and bold theme is great to mix things up!

Our Timeless Thursday Fashion Icon this week is Cyndi Lauper! Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. It was originally written about a girl trying to please a man, so Cyndi decided to change the lyrics to represent a strong feminist statement! Don't think you can pull of Cyndi's Look? Rock a black romper or jean skirt with neon pink tights and Hattitude necklace humming the tune of Girls just Wanna Have Fun. You deserve a treat! The Summer's wrapping up, so splurge on a great outfit for the fall!

Betty Or Veronica?

Well...Archie finally chose between the loves of his life...
Was it the sweet, blonde, girl next door, Betty or the fashion, vixon Veronica?
I was routing for Betty the whole time, although at some points I don't think Archie and his old jalopy car deserved her!
Are you ready........................

Archie chose Veronica...what a silly goose! Men!

Talk Tuesday

Hey everyone, My Mac stopped working yesterday on me, so I wasn't able to do the first edition of 'Talk Tuesday' feature. So I thought I would do it this morning.
Basically this feature will be about any suggestions people have on what they want to see this fall in their jewellery, and I'll talk about what is going on in the world of Hattitude.

Hattitude is doing a Breast Cancer Fundraiser Jewellery Show tonight. A girl is hosting a jewellery party and a portion of the sales from tonight will be donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Society.

When someone hosts a Hattitude Jewellery party, they get the option of donating 10% of the sales to their favourite charity event or receiving a free necklaces and earrings set of their choice for being hostess, depending on the sales, the more sales, the more free products the hostess receives! It's a great excuse to have some of your girlfriends over for a glass of wine and shop at the same time for a unique and affordable piece of jewellery!

Hattitude is also doing some upcoming trunk shows. I'll be setting up my booth in local clothing stores, so customers will be able to come in, get a great new fall shirt or outfit and match the jewellery to go with it! Easy and fun, one stop shopping!

If your interested in having a jewellery party of your own email me. If you have any ideas on what you would love to have as a piece or seen done this fall, make a comment or email me too!
Join my facebook group for up to date messages on shows and sales!

Happy shopping and thanks for buying locally Canadian!

More Monday

This is the first edition of "More Monday" Where you can comment and ask what to wear with each Hattitude jewellery piece. I'm featuring the beautiful "Forget me Not" necklace this monday. I'm really into rompers this summer and into the fall rompers with some great tights or leggings I think would be great.  I found this Jumpsuit on modcloth with a tight white tank top on top, great for displaying your one of a kind jewellery piece. Ty in the necklace with a great vintage turquoise blue purse.
If you don't think you can pull of this jump suit. Try it with a simple romper.  Try out this romper fro
m modcloth, Or check out your local malls stores for some rompers. In the fall throw on some turquoise leggings with some brown leather boots and a ruffled creme blouse or shirt and brown cardigan that you already own, with the "Forget me Not" Hattitude Necklace. What a smashing fall outfit! Almost gets me excited for the fall weather...ALMOST...but not quite! haha I'm a heat and 30 degree weather girl all the way!

Little Hattitude in Training

At the farmers market yesterday, there was a little girl who had just come from a soccer game, she was adorable in her little cleats and hot pink jersey. I asked her what position she played and if she had won. She played defense and unfortunately they had lost. She starts riffling through the bargain bin at the front of the booth with her mom. She says to her mom, "there was a fish necklace here... it's not here anymore...I guess it's gone." She continues to look through the piles of discounted Hattitude jewellery from previous years. I see that she has her own little purse, and has obviously been to the market before to know that there is a fish charm necklace in the basket of old treasures. She finally digs deep enough and out comes a huge smile on her face as she has located the fish charm necklace which is pink and turquoise a perfect fit for her jersey she's wearing.
She hums and haws over it with her mom, pleading that she really would love it. She can't be more then 8 years old, but boy when she is older is she ever going to be a little fashionista. They are a little ways a away from me in the booth, but I can tell this little girl really wants this necklace, and has been back to the market a few time searching for it, and obviously this time has brought her own little purse and is going to purchase it with her own money. I ask her what the discounted price is on the necklace. I tell her I'll give it to her for half of that. Her face lights up and she runs with her cleats trooping on the pavement over to where I am sitting, with a huge smile on her face. She proudly pulls out her purse and wallet and hands me the money. I ask her if she would like me to put it on her. I clasp the necklace on her and she gildes away with her hair in a pony tail, wearing cleats and a soccer jersey and a Hattitude charm necklace!
It made my night that she loved the necklace so much!

Bows

Bows are so femine and chic. I love them. In this photo from a girl in England, honeybunny in wonderland is her blog.  She sports a bow on her dress. If you don't think you can pull off this look. Try a bow on your accessory, like in the new Hattitude "Isn't she lovely" line in the necklace below.  It has a vintage heart pendant with a tiny bow and pearl drop bead, with a new copper bail.
You can purchase this little number on Hattitude's website. It is a must for the fall season!

Hattitude Jewellery

This is the first Hattitude Jewellery Blog.

This blog will keep you updated on what is going on in the designers life, (me, Hattie) and what is going on in the world of fashion, how you can wear the jewellery and any other odd tidbits Hattitude's customers might find intriguing!

I have been creating and designing jewellery for as long as I can remember. At my family cottage that is what us cousins did as little girls. I had multitude of seed beads and string and one thing evolved into another, and 10 years later, You've Got Hattitude company has been inspired and developed.

For those of you new to my jewellery, I use new and vintage reclaimed pieces of jewellery to create one of a kind jewellery. All the pieces have a history and story with them.  If I'm lucky enough I get to know each little vintage piece before they are made into something new. If they come from a home without a story given, it's easy to imagine one, since each piece is so unique.
It's great to look into the past and get a glimpse of someone's else's life. Whether the woman once wore a 1920's brooch while her fiancee proposed to her, or whether another girl got her first set of clip on earrings in the 1940's for her 16th birthday from her mother and father, each piece has a story to tell and a history to share.

Hattitude is always changing and updating styles to keep up with the latest trends.
Hattitude company prides themselves on each piece being handmade with quality and care for each fashionista.
