pale shades of floral

Necklace: Coming SOON (as in tomorrow, thumbs up) in my SHOP
Shirt: Chez Thrift, Bolton
Jeans: American Eagle
Shoes: Converse
Earrings: Coming SOON (tomorrow too) in my SHOP
* note all earrings for sale in my shop, are cleaned with alcohol after worn for photo shoot
** necklaces are mostly worn only for photo shoot so customers can see what outfits to pair them with

How this outfit came to be Hattified: I wanted to wear this pretty little floral pastel top. What better way to Hattify it then to pair it with all white and put some neon shoes with it. The shoes put it right on par with being totally Hattified. Put in a little hair flower, presto.

Why this outfit works: It works because of all the white, white tank top, white shoes, white hair flower. The green neon shoes although in a different colour palette are still green like the shirt which at certain points has neon in it as well.

Another version: Try it with a jean skirt, with your blouse tied up around your waist. Kick it with some white ked shoes or tennis shoes to change the converse shoe look up.

Tomorrow we are going to get our keys to our new apartment! I am so excited. Beautiful windows, an older condo building, right near the park. I am beginning to fall in love with London (Ontario). Who knew? The best part about our apartment besides the wrap around windows in living room/kitchen.... they have gutted a 4 story victorian home beside the condo building and turned it in to a swimming pool attached to the condo building. All the original windows, the old brick work is all exposed and beautiful in this swimming area! It's going to be a fun day tomorrow. We're even moving some new furniture in that we've collected at flea markets and thrift stores this spring.

A little... ville in your life

Please excuse my wet cat hair look. I couldn't wait for my hair to dry as I was running out the door! Sorry I have not been posting as regularly this week. I went under general anaesthetic for a bronchoscopy on wednesday and had a bad reaction to it afterwards. I was nasous, fever, headaches, the whole shebang. I slept for 24 hours straight. Not fun! But you know what is fun? Helping out a good cause. 10% of my sales this month are going towards cystic fibrosis research.
Check out my shop and do some good this month! Hattify your life with some Hattitude AND support CF research. Win, Win.
Check out my shop by clicking here. Below are the newest items listed. Happy shopping!

Guest Post Blogger - Kathy

Hello Hattitude Style Blog readers! Guest blogger Kathy here from My Peach Days blog. Hattie kindly invited me to do a guest post in her blog a few weeks ago but have just gotten around to taking the photos I'd use for it, so here I am. I hope everything's still intact by the time I leave Hattie's blog. I'm a klutz, i fear, virtual or otherwise. :)

Anyway, I thought I'd share something about myself. I'm from La Union, one of the northern provinces in the Philippines known for its agricultural lands and fishing and farming industry. I live just across the beach, which is great during the summer season and generally sunny days but not when there are strong typhoons and earthquakes.

I started blogging way back 2004 but have gotten into personal style blogging late 2009. I drifted from one personal style blog to another until I decided to put up My Peach Days, my permanent virtual style blogging place (I hope!).

I usually gravitate towards romantic, vintage-style clothes and accessories although there are some days when I am in the mood for edgier styles. I also like Asian style fashion (oversized tops, big hair buns) particularly on my lazy days. I get most of my clothes from thrift shops which really saves me a lot of money and gets me the clothes I really want. In fact, I am an advocate of thrift shopping. haha!

Aside from fashion, you'd usually catch me going on and on about TV series, Asian dramas, anime and books. I'm currently in the process of collecting George R.R. Martin books.

So there. Hope you didn't get bored. If you ever want to read more of my posts, simply hop on to My Peach Days blog. You can see my blog button on Hattie's blog sidebar. ^__^

Thanks Hattie for letting me introduce myself to your blog readers and thank you dear readers for your time!

Much love,
Kathy <3

apartment hunting

Skirt: Vintage
Belt: Thrifted
Shoes: Vintage
Shirt: Clothing Swap
Jacket: Thrifted
Bracelet: Gift from Cambodia
Necklace: Available in my shop
Earrings: Available in my shop

How this outfit came to be Hattified: I started with the skirt, added a pop of pattern with the shirt. The necklace and earrings were too good a match not to be worn. I love how the flowers in the necklace match the tiny flowers in the shirt. Threw on the jean jacket since it was a little chillier today.

Why this outfit Works: The navy belt and the navy strip at the bottom of the shirt balance each other out and tie in the violet blue blouse.

Another Version: Try it with a pair of skinny dark jeans.

Apartment hunting is hard work. It is stressful...but also fun when you're rewarded with a marble slab ice cream cone. Who doesn't love birthday cake ice cream with gummies in it?

jewellery update in the shop...earrings!

I started  making earrings (I've always made them, but never put them online in my shop). So this week I'm debuting earrings :) These are made from shells I grabbed off a vintage necklace. They have a sterling silver stud to protect your ears.

Long earrings are making quite the come back this season...shop for yours this long weekend!

THe HaIDa Collection by Hattitude

Shoes: Winners
Pants/Skirt: Vintage, Chez Thrift, Bolton
Shirt: thrifted, Chez Thrift, Bolton
Earrings: Available in my shop

After I redesigned my studio, the creative juices have been a flowing! Stay tuned for new pieces and new outfits with them every day!

I have been creating jewellery since I got home from out West, three weeks ago and cannot wait to post them on the website and in my shop

What better way then to treat yourself for the long weekend (10% of all sales goes towards Cystic Fibrosis research).

I started calling my new line of jewellery the Haida Collection by Hattitude. Haida are the indigenous, native people of British Columbia. I was told that they believe, when you die, you are reincarnated as a Killer Whale. Hence why the first necklace I introduce you to from the Haida collection is called 'Killer Whale'

You can purchase this necklace from my shop by clicking here.

10% of all items in my shop for the month of May go towards research in finding a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.
